Administrative and Specialized Subject-Matter Courts gathers the courts of first instance created to hear one particular kind of dispute outside the ordinary civil or criminal docket: administrative law itself, business and commercial disputes, consumer protection, drug offenses and drug treatment, electronic and internet-related disputes, health and mental health matters, labor and industrial relations, land disputes, social security appeals, tax disputes, traffic offenses and veterans' benefits among them. Each such court exists because its subject matter benefits from a specialized bench and procedure rather than the general jurisdiction of an ordinary trial court, the same underlying rationale across every specialty represented here even though the subjects themselves vary widely.
