The King's Bench Division, known as the Queen's Bench Division whenever the monarch is a woman, is one of the divisions of the High Court of Justice in England and Wales. It deals with a wide range of common law cases and has supervisory responsibility over certain lower courts. It hears appeals on points of law from magistrates' courts and from the Crown Court by way of case stated, where the questions of law are decided solely on the facts found and stated by the authority under review. Its specialised courts include the Administrative Court, the Technology and Construction Court, the Commercial Court and the Admiralty Court, each with judges and procedures suited to its own kind of business. Civil appeals from the High Court go to the Court of Appeal (Civil Division), while criminal appeals from the Divisional Court go only to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.
