Mahlon Pitney lived from February 5, 1858 to December 9, 1924 and was an American lawyer, jurist and politician who served in the United States House of Representatives for two terms from 1895 to 1899 before serving as an associate justice of the United States Supreme Court from 1912 to 1922.
