Kim Sathavy, born in 1954 in Phnom Penh, is a Cambodian judge and the first woman to sit on the Supreme Court of Cambodia. She earned a Bachelor of Civil Law at Lumiere University Lyon 2, trained as a judge at the Ecole Nationale de la Magistrature in Bordeaux from 1993 to 1995, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan Law School in 1997 and 1998. She was appointed a judge of the Siem Reap Provincial Court in 1982 and rose to its vice presidency from 1986 to 1993, later advised Cambodia's Minister of Justice on training judges and prosecutors, served as legal advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng from 1999 to 2002, founded and directed the Royal School for Judges and Prosecutors from 2002 to 2005, and has served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Cambodia since May 2006.
