Faiq Zaidan is an Iraqi jurist and professor, born in 1967 in Baghdad, who has served as Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Cassation of Iraq since 2016 and as President of Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council since 2017, heading the country's judicial system. He earned his law degree from the University of Baghdad in 1991 and a doctorate in law from the Islamic University of Lebanon, having earlier presided over the Iraqi Central Investigation Court and served on the Court of Cassation from 2012 to 2014.
