Levant and Iraq

Levant and Iraq gathers the modern Chief Justices and senior constitutional judges of Israel, Jordan, Syria and Iraq, the Eastern Mediterranean and Mesopotamian states of Western Asia. Israel's Supreme Court, one of the world's most closely studied constitutional benches, anchors the largest share of the group, alongside Jordan's Court of Cassation and Constitutional Court, and Syria's and Iraq's own supreme and federal constitutional courts, each rebuilt or reshaped by the political upheavals of the past two decades.
