All International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea Judges

International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea Judges gathers the judges of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the standing tribunal seated in Hamburg and established under the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea to resolve disputes over the interpretation and application of the Convention, including questions of maritime boundaries, navigation, fisheries and deep seabed mining. Twenty one judges sit at a time, elected by the states parties to the Convention for nine year terms and required by the Convention itself to represent the world's principal legal systems and an equitable geographic distribution, and the tribunal shares jurisdiction over Convention disputes with the International Court of Justice and with arbitral tribunals convened under the Convention's own arbitration annex.
