The Supreme Court of Justice of Zaire, today the Democratic Republic of the Congo, was the highest court of the country in the twentieth century and is a historical institution. Marcel Lihau became its first president in 1968 and held the office until he was dismissed in 1975. Under the 2006 Constitution it continued only until the installation of three successor courts, the Constitutional Court, the Council of State and the Court of Cassation, to which the Constitution devolves its attributions. The Court of Cassation is recorded as its successor here.
