The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh is the highest appellate court in the country, hearing final appeals in civil and criminal cases from the High Court Division and exercising advisory jurisdiction over questions of law the President refers to it. It was established under the High Court of Bangladesh (Amendment) Order of 1972, inheriting the powers formerly held by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, and it sits in Ramna, Dhaka.
