All Criminal Trial Courts

Criminal Trial Courts gathers the courts of first instance whose own jurisdiction is dedicated to trying criminal offenses rather than general civil disputes: England and Wales' Crown Court and its senior London counterpart the Central Criminal Court, known as the Old Bailey, the mixed-tribunal courts of assize of Italy and Belgium, magistrates' courts that try lesser criminal matters, and the specialized and state security criminal courts of several other jurisdictions. Distinct from the general jurisdiction trial courts grouped elsewhere in this subcategory, whose criminal jurisdiction is only one part of a broader docket, these courts exist specifically to try crime.
