Modern Constitutional and Supreme Court Judges of Asia and Oceania

Umar Ata Bandial (born 17 September 1958 in Lahore) served as the twenty-eighth Chief Justice of Pakistan from 2 February 2022 to 16 September 2023. Educated at Columbia University and the University of Cambridge and qualified as a barrister at Lincoln's Inn, London, he served as Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court from 2012 to 2014 before his appointment to the Supreme Court and, in 2022, to the office of Chief Justice by President Arif Alvi.
