Umar Ata Bandial (born 17 September 1958 in Lahore) served as the twenty-eighth Chief Justice of Pakistan from 2 February 2022 to 16 September 2023. Educated at Columbia University and the University of Cambridge and qualified as a barrister at Lincoln's Inn, London, he served as Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court from 2012 to 2014 before his appointment to the Supreme Court and, in 2022, to the office of Chief Justice by President Arif Alvi. He was named to the Time 100 list of most influential people in 2022, and his tenure was marked by tension with fellow judges and conflict with the government over election related rulings.

Previously, Bandial served as a Justice of Lahore High Court from 1 June 2012 to 16 June 2014.
