Wincenty Kadlubek was a Polish Catholic prelate and professed Cistercian who served as Bishop of Krakow from 1208 until his resignation in 1218. Beyond his episcopal duties he was a leading scholar in Poland, trained as a lawyer, and the author of the chronicle Chronica Polonorum; he is also remembered as a historian and church reformer, and is considered by some to be a father of Polish culture and national identity.
