Sir William Brandford Griffith (1858-1939) was a British colonial judge and legal writer who served as Chief Justice of the Gold Coast from 1895 to 1911. He was called to the bar by the Middle Temple in 1881 and, before his appointment as Chief Justice, served as a magistrate in Jamaica, a District Commissioner and Queen's Advocate on the Gold Coast, a Puisne Judge in Lagos, and Attorney-General of Jamaica; he was knighted in 1898. He was the eldest son of William Brandford Griffith, Governor of the Gold Coast from 1885 to 1895, a distinct colonial administrator rather than a jurist.
