Raymond Mnyamezeli Mlungisi Zondo, born 4 May 1960 in Ixopo, Natal, is a South African jurist who served as the 22nd Chief Justice of South Africa from 1 April 2022 until his retirement on 31 August 2024, having acted in the role from 11 October 2021. President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed him Chief Justice; he had earlier served as Deputy Chief Justice from 2017 and as a judge of the Constitutional Court from 2012, and before that as Judge President of the Labour Court and a judge of the North Gauteng High Court and the Labour Court. He has served as Chancellor of the University of Zululand since April 2018.
