Paola Veronica Prudencio Candia is a Bolivian lawyer who became president of the Plurinational Constitutional Tribunal of Bolivia in November 2025, the first woman to lead the institution. Born in Oruro, she is a graduate of the Technical University of Oruro with doctorates in constitutional and administrative law and in higher education, and before her election as a magistrate in 2024 she worked within the Bolivian judiciary as a court officer, judicial secretary, assistant lawyer of the Constitutional Court, notary and litigant, alongside more than fifteen years teaching law. She was sworn in as president after the tribunal plenary elected her, declaring at her inauguration that legality and institutionality had been restored.
