Nasim Hasan Shah served as the twelfth Chief Justice of Pakistan from 1993 to 1994, after becoming the youngest ad hoc judge ever appointed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1977. He presided over the Supreme Court bench that upheld the death sentence against former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, a decision he later said in life was wrong. He held one of the longest judicial tenures in the history of the Indian subcontinent, retiring at age sixty five, and he also served as president of the Pakistan Cricket Board from 1992 to 1994.
