Muhammad Shahabuddin (13 May 1895 to 13 April 1971) served as the third Chief Justice of Pakistan for a brief tenure from 3 to 12 May 1960, appointed by Field Marshal Ayub Khan. Born in Eluru in the Madras Presidency, he trained in law in Madras and served as a judge of the Madras High Court before partition. He later became Chief Justice of the Dhaka High Court in 1950 and a judge of the Federal Court of Pakistan in 1953. He also served as acting Governor of East Bengal from December 1954 until his resignation in June 1955, and chaired Pakistan's Constitution Commission.
