Mian Saqib Nisar, born 1954 in Lahore, is a Pakistani jurist who served as the twenty-fifth Chief Justice of Pakistan from 2016 to 2019. His tenure was marked by an unusually active program of suo motu cases, including rulings on the Twenty-First Constitutional Amendment establishing military courts and disputes over Pakistan Railways land, and by criticism that his court had become too involved in the day-to-day affairs of government.
