Sir Lyman Poore Duff was a Canadian lawyer and judge who served as the eighth Chief Justice of Canada from 17 March 1933 to 6 January 1944, capping a Supreme Court career that spanned more than 37 years as a puisne justice and then as chief justice, the longest tenure in the courts history. Born on 7 January 1865, he practiced law in Ontario and British Columbia before joining the judiciary. He died on 26 April 1955.
