Luz del Carmen Ibanez Carranza is a Peruvian jurist and the first Peruvian judge to serve on the International Criminal Court. Born on 15 July 1955, she built a career as a prosecutor in Peru handling cases involving human rights violations and high-profile defendants, and also held academic positions teaching criminal law. At the ICC she has served on the Appeals Chamber and previously held the position of First Vice-President from 2021 to 2024.
