Luiz Fux, born April 26, 1953, is a Brazilian jurist who has served as a justice of the Supreme Federal Court since March 3, 2011, and is the first Jewish Brazilian member of the court, of Romanian Jewish heritage. Before his appointment he served as a justice of the Superior Court of Justice from 2001 to 2011, having earlier worked as in-house counsel for Shell Brasil, as a public prosecutor in Rio de Janeiro from 1978, and as a state judge from 1983, rising to the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice.
