Karl Korinek (1940 to 2017) was an Austrian constitutional law scholar and judge who joined the Constitutional Court of Austria in 1978, served as its vice president from 1999 to 2002, and led it as president from 2003 until his retirement in 2008. Alongside his judicial career he taught at several Austrian universities and published more than 250 scholarly works on constitutional law, and was widely regarded as one of the most influential legal figures in modern Austrian history.
