Isaac Kobina Abban (1933-2001) was a Ghanaian judge who served as Chief Justice of Ghana from 1995 until his death in 2001, the ninth person to hold the office since independence. He was called to the English bar in 1958, returned to Ghana the following year to practice law, and was appointed to the High Court bench in 1970; as a High Court judge he also served as Electoral Commissioner overseeing the disputed 1978 UNIGOV referendum, a role in which he went into hiding after opposing the military government's attempts to rig the result. Before returning to Ghana, he served as Chief Justice of Seychelles from 1990 to 1993, and President Jerry Rawlings appointed him Chief Justice of Ghana in February 1995.
