George Wilson Kanyeihamba was a Ugandan jurist, author and politician who lived from 1939 to 2025. He earned a law degree from Portsmouth University and a doctorate in law from the University of Warwick, and served as Uganda's Minister of Commerce, Justice and Attorney-General under President Yoweri Museveni before chairing the legal committee that drafted Uganda's 1995 constitution. Kanyeihamba served as a justice of the Supreme Court of Uganda from 1997 to 2009 and also sat as a judge of the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights; he was one of three Supreme Court justices who found that Museveni's 2006 re-election had been fraudulent enough to warrant nullification, a dissent that reportedly cost him his position on the African Court. He wrote extensively on Ugandan constitutional history and governance.
