Cornelis van Bijnkershoek, also known as Cornelius van Bynkershoek, lived from 29 May 1673 to 16 April 1743, born in Middelburg and dying in The Hague, and was a Dutch jurist and legal theorist. He contributed to the development of international law, in particular the development of the law of the sea.
