Angelika Helene Anna Nussberger is a German legal scholar who served as the judge elected in respect of Germany on the European Court of Human Rights from 2011 to 2019, holding the position of vice president of the court from 2017 to 2019. A specialist in Slavic legal studies who earned her doctorate on Soviet constitutional law from the University of Wurzburg, she became a professor at the University of Cologne in 2002, directing its Institute of Eastern European Law, and her scholarship focuses on fundamental rights, international human rights, and comparative constitutional law across Central and Eastern Europe.
