Abdel Hamid Badawi Pasha, who lived from 1887 to 1965, was an Egyptian jurisprudent and legislator active in both national and international arenas. He served as Egypt's Minister of Finance from 1940 to 1942 and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1945 to 1946, heading the Egyptian delegation to the United Nations and co-signing the UN Charter in 1945. He was elected a judge of the International Court of Justice in 1946 and served until his death in 1965, also serving as the court's vice president from 1955 to 1958.
