International Court of Justice Judges: Africa

International Court of Justice Judges: Africa gathers the judges of the International Court of Justice who sit as members representing the African regional group in the United Nations' own practice for electing the court, one of the five regional groups this parent group is split into because the International Court of Justice has sat continuously since 1946 with a bench that has always reflected every major region of the world. Its members include jurists from Egypt, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Uganda and other African states who reached the bench either through direct election by the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council or, in earlier decades, through the seats African states held on the court from the era of decolonization onward.
