Abbo of Fleury (about 945 to 1004) was a Benedictine monk and abbot of Fleury Abbey near Orleans in France. Educated in Paris and Reims, and later a teacher at Ramsey Abbey in England from 985 to 987, he became a central figure in the monastic reform movement of the late tenth century in both France and England. Among his scholarly works, alongside writing on mathematics, philosophy and astronomy, he compiled a Collectio Canonum, a collection of church law with his own clarifications on points of canon law. He died in 1004 at the monastery of La Reole in Gascony.
