Alvin Robert Cornelius (8 May 1903 to 21 December 1991) was the fourth Chief Justice of Pakistan, serving from 1960 to 1968, and the first Christian to hold the post. Born in Agra to an Anglo-Indian Roman Catholic family, he helped draft the Pakistan Resolution alongside Muhammad Ali Jinnah and later served as Pakistan's Law Minister from 1969 to 1971. He also chaired the Pakistan Cricket Board and founded the Pakistan Eaglets cricket club. His legal philosophy held that law has a moral function in society and should be culture sensitive, and he was known as a defender of minority rights and religious freedom.
