Delhi High Court

The High Court of Delhi is the principal judicial authority for the National Capital Territory of Delhi, India. It was established on 31 October 1966 through the Delhi High Court Act, 1966, and it draws its powers from Chapter V of Part VI of the Constitution of India. Eleven subordinate courts sit below it and oversee smaller judicial districts within Delhi. As a state-level high court under the Indian constitutional structure, it hears civil and criminal appeals from those subordinate courts and exercises original jurisdiction over specified matters, with further appeal lying to the Supreme Court of India. Two of the open law-jurist court-served-on pairs this atlas is tracking name the Delhi High Court directly: Dalveer Bhandari served as a judge of the Delhi High Court, and Sanjiv Khanna served as a judge at the Delhi High Court, both before their later judicial service was recorded elsewhere in this atlas.
