Lloyd George Williams

Lloyd George Williams, who lived from June 16, 1927 to January 16, 2008, was a Jamaican-born jurist with an extensive judicial career across the Caribbean and at the international level. Born in Kingston, he became a barrister-at-law in 1959 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1981. He served as Director of Public Prosecutions in Antigua from 1978 to 1982, Solicitor General of Antigua in 1982, and a High Court judge of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court from 1983 to 1992. From 1999 to 2004 he served as a judge of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, sitting in Arusha, Tanzania.
