The Florida First District Court of Appeal, also known as the First DCA, is headquartered in Tallahassee, the state capital, and is one of Florida six district courts of appeal. It is the court of appeal for 29 counties in the Florida Panhandle and north-central Florida, and it is unique among Florida appellate courts in handling most of the state administrative law appeals, much as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit does at the federal level, as well as being solely responsible for appeals in workers compensation cases.
