The Court of Cassation is the highest court in Luxembourg ordinary judiciary, forming part of the Superior Court of Justice, which sits in Luxembourg City and has jurisdiction over the whole country. It hears cases in panels of five judges who decide by absolute majority, and its role is limited to reviewing the correct application of the law by lower courts rather than re examining the facts of a case.
