The Court of Cassation of Kuwait is the country top appeals court, whose chief is also President of the Supreme Judicial Council and of the High Council of the Judiciary. It rules on appeals in the thousands each judicial year: its chief, Dr Adel Bouresli, reported around 20,000 appeals decided in a year and set faster disposal of appeals and greater use of digital justice as the priorities. In December 2025 a delegation of the Kuwaiti Court of Cassation led by Counselor Adel Majed Boursli visited the Supreme Court of Algeria and was received by the Algerian Minister of Justice.

KUWAIT: Supreme Judicial Council President and Court of Cassation Chief Dr Adel Bouresli praised the court’s efforts in ruling on around 20,000 appeals during the judicial year nearing its end, stressing the importance of speeding up proceedings and clearing the accumulated backlog in the new judicial year.

Speaking at the court’s general assembly meeting, Bouresli said the judiciary’s work aims to uphold the rule of law and ensure the proper administration of justice.
