Balochistan High Court

Intermediate Appellate Courts

The Balochistan High Court, formally known as the High Court of Balochistan, is the highest judicial institution of the province of Balochistan in Pakistan. It is situated in the provincial capital, Quetta. Mir Ali Dost Bugti was its first judge, and Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Malakhail is the current Chief Justice, having taken charge on 6 June 2025. The court is headed by a Chief Justice, and its bench consists of justices and additional judges. The Chief Justice and the justices retire at the age of 62, while additional judges are first appointed for one year, after which their service may be extended, they may be confirmed, or they may retire. In January 2018 the President of Pakistan increased the number of judges from eleven to fifteen. The article also records which judges took or declined the oath under the Provisional Constitutional Orders of 1981, 2000 and 2007. The Balochistan Bar Council, a statutory body of lawyers that licenses all lower court and High Court lawyers in the province, is described alongside the court.
