Revised Penal Code

The Revised Penal Code is the general criminal code of the Philippines, enacted in 1930 as Act No. 3815 and taking effect on 1 January 1932. It defines and penalizes major offenses such as murder, homicide, robbery, theft and rape, along with offenses distinctive to Philippine law such as adultery and concubinage. It remains in force today despite numerous amendments, though some categories of crime, notably drug offenses, are instead governed by separate statutes.
