Law of Armenia

Civil Law Family

The legal system of Armenia is a civil law system, sharing the patterns and characteristics common to other civil law countries. Armenia's Constitution was modeled on the French constitutional tradition, and its laws are organized as a codified, hierarchical body of enacted legislation rather than built up case by case through judicial precedent.
