All Family and Probate Courts

Family and Probate Courts gathers the courts of first instance dedicated specifically to family law and to the administration of estates: divorce, child custody and support, adoption, juvenile and domestic relations matters, and the probate, surrogate and chancery courts that oversee wills, trusts and estates. Distinct from the general jurisdiction trial courts grouped elsewhere in this subcategory, whose family and probate jurisdiction is only one part of a broader docket, these courts exist specifically because family and estate matters benefit from a dedicated bench, procedure and, often, supporting social services.
