New Hampshire Probate Court

The New Hampshire Probate Court has jurisdiction over trusts, wills and estates, adoptions, termination of parental rights, name changes, guardianship of incapacitated persons and of minors, partition of property, and involuntary admissions. Each of New Hampshires ten counties operates its own probate court, with full-time judges in the more populous counties of Belknap, Hillsborough, Merrimack, Rockingham and Strafford and part-time judges elsewhere; the court shares concurrent jurisdiction with the Superior Court over certain cases involving charitable trusts and durable powers of attorney.
