Land court

A land court, or land claims court, is a type of court charged with cases involving land titles and disputes between landlords and tenants over agricultural tenancies. Its exact scope varies by country: South Africas Land Claims Court, established in 1995, addresses disputes arising from land reform legislation and land dispossession after 1913; several U.S. states, including Massachusetts, Hawaii and Virginia, maintain their own land courts; New South Wales and Queensland in Australia have established land courts for property disputes; New Zealands Maori Land Court, established in 1964, manages land ownership matters; and Austria, Scotland and Ireland maintain land court systems of their own.
