Consumer court

A consumer court is a special purpose court in India that primarily deals with consumer-related disputes, conflicts and grievances. It examines whether a consumer can substantiate a claim of exploitation through evidence such as bills or purchase records, and bases its verdicts on violations of consumer rights. These forums exist to give consumers a way to resolve disputes more quickly and at lower cost than through the ordinary court system.
