Telangana High Court

Intermediate Appellate Courts

The Telangana High Court is the high court for the Indian state of Telangana, with its seat in Hyderabad. Its roots lie in the high court founded under the 7th Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan, for the former Hyderabad State. After the formation of Andhra Pradesh in November 1956 it became the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, and after the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 it served both states as a common High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad. The President of India ordered it split on 26 December 2018, and the separate Telangana and Andhra Pradesh high courts came into effect on 1 January 2019. Its sanctioned strength is 42 judges, and a new building is under construction at Budvel in Ranga Reddy district.
