The individual enacted statutes and acts this atlas records, grouped into eight subject areas: Constitutional and Governmental Structure, Civil Rights and Human Rights, Immigration and Citizenship, Labor and Industrial Relations, Criminal Law and Public Order, Electoral and Political Rights, Trade and Economic Regulation, and Environmental and Consumer Protection, following Halsbury's Statutes of England subject classification cross-checked against the United States Code's own title structure. A statute or act differs from a code in this atlas: a code is a comprehensive, foundational body of law, a statute or act is a single enacted measure however significant, and the two are recorded and grouped separately even where one amends or implements the other.
