Norodom Ranariddh (1944-2021) was a Cambodian politician and law academic, the second son of King Norodom Sihanouk. A graduate of the University of Provence, he began his career as a law researcher and lecturer in France before returning to Cambodia to lead the royalist party FUNCINPEC. He served as the first Prime Minister of Cambodia after the monarchy's restoration, from 1993 to 1997, and later as President of the National Assembly from 1998 to 2006.
