The Supreme Court of Peru is the country's highest judicial court, founded in 1825 and organized into Civil, Criminal, and Constitutional and Social sectors handling, respectively, civil and commercial law, criminal matters, and constitutional and labor rights. It is headquartered in the Palace of Justice in Lima, holds fifteen positions, and its justices are chosen by the National Board of Justice and normally serve until age seventy.
