Jutta Limbach, born Jutta Ryneck, was a German jurist and Social Democratic politician who served as President of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany from 1994 to 2002, the first woman to hold that office. Born on 27 March 1934, she had earlier served as Senator for Justice in Berlin from 1989 to 1994, and after leaving the court she headed the Limbach Commission on Nazi-era art restitution beginning in 2003 and served as president of the Goethe-Institut from 2001 to 2008. She died on 10 September 2016.
