How did the Senate vote when Renato Corona was removed from office?
Twenty senators voted to convict and three to acquit, against the 16 votes required.
On May 29, 2012, the Senate, sitting as an impeachment court, found Renato Corona guilty of Article II of the articles of impeachment, which charged that he had failed to disclose his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth as the Constitution requires. Twenty senators voted to convict and three voted to acquit. Conviction needed a two-thirds majority, which meant 16 votes, so the margin was well clear of the threshold.
