Samuel Azu Crabbe (1918-2005) was a Ghanaian barrister, solicitor, and jurist who served as the fifth Chief Justice of Ghana since independence, from 1973 to 1977. He was first appointed a Supreme Court judge in 1961 by Kwame Nkrumah and again in 1971 under Kofi Abrefa Busia before his appointment as Chief Justice by the National Redemption Council in 1973; he was forced into retirement in 1977 by a military decree naming him specifically, after the Ghana Bar Association voted no confidence in him. He later chaired the Special Investigation Board that examined the 1982 murders of three judges and a retired army officer during the Rawlings PNDC era.
